DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
The Specialists were delighted when asked to create an identity for Altogether Better - a five year regional-local programme designed to deliver innovative techniques to empower communities to improve their health and well-being. With £6.8m funding from the Big Lottery Well-Being Fund, the programme focuses on meeting an array of key principles designed to tackle health inequalities.
As the ‘Altogether Better’ logotype was mostly to be used in conjunction with a Big Lottery Fund strapline, we attempted to strengthen synergies between the co-sponsor brand and the Altogether Better brand. Using the moiré edge of the Big Lottery Fund logo as our inspiration, we’ve created a positive and energetic character using the sphere motif. Our androgenous character is also ageless and without ethnic orientation which allows for integration with 100% of the target audience. By adding dimension and scale to the spheres we also encapsulate the idea of chains of people within a community relaying positive messages from person to person.
We were delighted to hear that the Altogether Better programme won the Prime Minister’s Big Society Award in December 2010. We wish the team ongoing success with this important programme.
“Our ultimate aim and shared ambition is to develop an evidence-based model of community empowerment that will have a significant and sustainable impact, not only in Yorkshire and the Humber but on a national level”
